23–24 June 2026, Putrajaya – The Protection Division, Prime Minister’s Department (BPJPM) successfully conducted Firearms Training Series 1 2026 over two days at the Shapadu Target Shooting Club, Precinct 20, Putrajaya.
The training programme was organised to enhance the proficiency, competency and operational readiness of Protection Division officers and agents in the safe handling and use of firearms. It also served as an important platform to strengthen participants' knowledge of firearms safety, professional weapon handling and compliance with standard operating procedures.
The programme was supervised and attended by the Director-General of the Protection Division, Prime Minister’s Department, YBrs. Mr. Khairul Anwar bin Zakaria @ Abdul Hamid, together with the Deputy Director-General and the Division Directors. Their presence reflected BPJPM's continued commitment to strengthening the capabilities and preparedness of its personnel.
Throughout the programme, participants underwent comprehensive training modules focusing on safe firearms handling techniques, marksmanship skills and operational discipline in the use of firearms. These competency-based modules were designed to ensure that officers remain fully prepared to carry out specialised operational duties and security protection responsibilities.
The successful implementation of the training programme demonstrates BPJPM's commitment to developing a competent, professional and highly disciplined workforce. The programme concluded without any untoward incidents, reflecting the participants' high level of discipline and strict adherence to all established safety procedures.
